Need Help with PF and EDLI Forms: Can I Use Computer-Printed Challans for Monthly Returns?

Dear friends/Seniors,

Can anyone help me with forms of PF and EDLI in xls format? Specifically, I need the forms 5, challans, etc., which are needed for filing monthly returns. Another question: Do the banks accept challans printed from computers, even if they are not of different colors?

Hi,

For forms, you can get these forms at some stationary shop where government-related forms are available. As far as challans are concerned, it varies from branch to branch. This means that some branches of SBI do accept a computerized format and some do not. It would be desirable if government-defined forms are being used so that there is no scope for any discrepancy. Still, you can check with the branch before using computerized stuff. If they agree, you can always go ahead. I myself have faced a problem with the same in ESIC matters, so it's better to check. We had good earlier postings on the PF matters. Please go through them.
