Regarding Skill Matrix - Xls Download

We are starting a HR Department in our company. I want to start skill matrix so i want to know how develop the skill matrix. Please give us necessary points of skill matrix. please attach a "skill matrix format" with filled.

please can you elaborate little more on what u mean by skill matrix because we use different terms for same activities.
if i got your point,skill matrix is a tool to identify the shop floor workers training need and skill requirements(can use as job description).

 Skill matrix, as the name suggests is a repository of skills , which have been identified for successful completion of Job.(s)
 Specific skills required to complete the job is broken down ( the details to be captured during Job Design )
 The Skill set of every employee is carefully accessed and logged into the skill matrix.
 The skill matrix comes in handy , to determine the shortfall of Key Skills.
 The skill matrix forms a base for all appraisals, training programes , employee developments., deployments etc.
 The skill matrix to be updated on a regular basis .
 The skill matrix to be shared with HR and Project teams.
 The key to deploying a successful Skill matrix , is about identifying and codifying the SKILLS in an acceptable manner. One may refer to the starndards laid down by SFIA in this regards.

Skill Matrix, as the name suggest, different job require different skills
so in particular job, particular role will require particular skill to accomplish that task
so it will be like,,,,,,
Job Role Skills
1 i, ii a,c
2 i, ii, iii a, b, c
3 i a,b
in this way, we can prepare matrix and bifurcate, which job, which role will require what kind of skill :)
