Choosing Between MBA and PGDM in HR: Which Correspondence Program Fits My Career Needs?

Meghna197
Hi,

I need help deciding where to pursue an MBA/PGDM in HR. I have searched through various forums but have not found any concrete information. I would prefer a degree in MBA over PGDM. I have missed many opportunities due to the lack of an "MBA." I would also appreciate it if someone could explain the difference between the two degrees.

I have 8 years of experience in Recruitment and Operations and am unable to attend classes in person. Correspondence seems to be the right option for me.

Hi Meghna,

First, the difference between MBA and PGDM is inconsequential. What matters is the course content and the institute you pursue it from. It's only accreditation that makes a PGDM program an MBA. Many private institutes providing PGDM are far better than many universities providing MBAs.

Second, in case you are interested in pursuing a distance learning program, some good options would be:
- SCDL
- NMIMS
- XLRI

These institutes offer distance learning courses and are well acclaimed. You can find more details about the courses on the respective sites.

Hope this was helpful. Bye!

Hi Meghna,

I feel that Symbiosis is the top choice in terms of its acceptance, but unfortunately, they do not offer an 'MBA' in their distance learning program. What they offer is PGDM only, so you need to make a choice now.

You can also consider Amity as they offer an acclaimed MBA program that is completely online. You can visit www.amityelearning.com for more information.

All the best with your search. If you come across any other institutes or universities offering good distance learning programs, please let me know.

Till then, take care.

Cheers :-)

Considerations for Correspondence MBA

You can consider Symbiosis, but there are many other institutions that offer better correspondence MBA courses. I suggest you research more on this.
