How Numbers Got That Way - Pps Download

Kelvin Chibesa
Hi team, I thought this can good for us to share.....

How numerals 0 - 9 got their shape - Interesting Do you know why numbers look like they do? Someone, at some point in time, had to create their shapes and meaning.

Watch this short presentation and then you will know how our Arabic numbers were originally created a very long time ago and what logic the people that created them used to determine their shapes.

It is really very simple and quite creative. You have to admire the intelligence of a person or people that created something so simple and perfect that it has lasted for thousands and thousands of years and will probably never change?
When the presentation gets to the number "seven", you will notice that the 7 has a line through the middle of it. That was the way the Arabic 7 was originally written, and in Europe and certain other areas, they still write the 7 thatway. Also, in the military, they commonly write it that way.

The nine has a kind of curly tail on it that has been reduced, for the most part nowadays, to a simple curve, but the logic involved still applies.

Good morning to all of you
I got a small idea to collect data and materials related to HR and put them in a single place, wherein the information could be readily available to read and help to develop our skills and knowledge. So keeping this in mind i started working on it .
Now although i am working on it, is it really worthy to spend time on it?
Please see the below link to view my site where in i tried to collect latest information on HR, especially AP HR

Kelvin, Nice to see your post. Interesting to note that the zero invented by Indians follows the same logic of , the number referring to the no.of angles, like Arab numerals ( zero having zero angles).

I BEG TO DIFFER...NOT CONVINCED ABOUT THE EXPLAINATION
NUMBERS 1,2,3 was OK but the rest Numbers looks modified more to suit the purpose of explanation rather than reality...Moreover some numbers have original appearance while others have digital apperance only to suit the purpose of Angles.............n regarding member responses i was really surprised ..as the saying goes "Whats good for the geese also goes for the gander"............UNCONVINCINGLY YOURS
