Managerial Presentism : Case Of HR Manager

Hi Niranjas,
Yes, we should not be working with appraisals in mind always.
But then i go back to wjat was discussed in another forum which is that appraisals are by default taken as the one and only basis for better compensation. Better appraisal is more money. Ofcourse things are changing and would have changed to an extent in some organisations. But in most of the hardcore brick and cement organisations, this remains the fact still.

Yes Niranjas, it has to change for good. And that change can be brought about by all of us only by constantly striving to better the working environment, working practices, assesment methods etc etc.
Let us wish ourselves "All the Best" in this effort

Dear Srinivasu,
Thank you for your opinion.
I do agree that this fenomena is present in all areas of management.Don't you think managers view time as a measurable commodity that is spent productively or wasted? To emphasise utility of time /overtime managers pretend to consume more time or expand time. This is an individual attitude not a widely prelevent practice.
