Is the National Institute of Management Legit? Understanding Its UKAS 9001:2000 Recognition

I want to know about the National Institute of Management recognition from UKAS 9001:2000. Is NIM a fake university or not?

I am surprised that after completing the course, you have sent the certificate for verification. I have accessed their website, and it clearly does not claim to be a university. Here is a short extract: "NIM is the first ISO 9001-2000 certified International B-school in distance management education offering short-duration programs..."

Most organizations prefer a candidate who has completed an MBA through full-time studies or one with good experience from a reputable university/institute. I am based in the UK and, hence, cannot comment on the validity of NIM's claims.

Beware of Bogus Institutions

The National Institute of Management is a bogus institution. They are fooling people by stating that the institute is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and charging heavy fees for MBA and Doctoral courses. Please note that these diplomas and degrees, especially Doctorate courses, are not valid in any government institutions or corporate bodies. Whether it be a short-term Diploma course or an MBA Degree, the institute is strangely awarding Doctoral courses.

Many academicians are duped after obtaining their Doctoral Degree and find themselves ineligible for any kind of promotion. Instead, they enroll in a PhD program from recognized universities, resulting in a loss of around Rs. 60K to Rs. 70K. This is truly an act of cheating the public in the name of imparting "B" school education.

Be aware of such fake institutions that deceive students in the name of so-called quality education.
