In short professional tax is a tax levied by states on employment. Usually slabbed and deductible from income tax.

How to calculate the profession tax from salary. Please send me the details.
I have to pay the p.tax for 6 months.
for example,
Govt. slab rate is above 75,000/-, 75000/6=12500. if above 12500 salary means I have to pay 1095/- .This is the slab rate in chennai.
What are the documents requried ,when I have to pay the amount.
Give me details information about that.
