I joined a company on 01 July 2010. I received my salary for July. I quit the company on 30 Aug 2010. I also decided to forgo my one-month salary due to me for the month of August in lieu of my notice period of one month. Therefore, I have not received my salary for August 2010. Now my employer wants me to remit back the salary which was given to me in the month of July, also in addition to the salary I have foregone in August. My notice period in the company as per terms of the agreement is one month. Is my employer right in asking me to remit my salary for the month of July as well for which I have worked.
