Appraisal Confusion: Is a 3.24 Score Good for a Fresher's Evaluation?

Hi,

I want to know that during appraisals, do we see the score or the percentage? Suppose an employee gets 3.24 out of 5 as a score, and another gets 3.9 out of 5 on a 5-point rating scale. Then, is a score of 3.24 good for appraisal, considering the employee is a fresher? Please reply.

Hi,

The score on a five-point rating scale is 3, which is considered good, and 4 is categorized as very good. Therefore, the score falls between good and very good. Can anyone provide insight into how the score is perceived now?

5-point scales are interpreted differently. For some, 4-5 is excellent, while 3-3.9 is good, and 2-2.9 is mediocre, and so on.

In some places, 3.5-4.5 is considered good, and anything above this is excellent, while anything below is mediocre.

Please frame this range at your place and then compare the scores. Otherwise, if we calculate using rough approximations, 3.2 for a fresher is definitely a good indicator of performance. It is 60%.

Dr. Prageetha
