Concerned About PF Transfer Due to Overlapping Job Dates? Let's Discuss Your Options

Hi, I have a problem. I joined a new company after working for my previous company for 7 years. In my relieving letter from the previous company, the last working day was stated as August 1st, and I joined the present company on July 31st. I had taken 2 days of leave in the previous company on July 31st and August 1st before joining the new company. Now, I am concerned that there might be an issue with the transfer of my PF. Any thoughts on this, please.

PF Organisation is not concerned about your relieving letter or appointment order. However, both of these dates are required to be furnished in Form 13 of PF for transferring the PF accounts. If your actual date of relieving is 1st August, then the previous company would send Form 10 with your name as a left employee only along with September returns and contributions in respect of one day (1st Aug), would also be made in respect of you. Therefore, it cannot be changed. What is practical is to change the date of joining with the present employer and make it 2nd of August and process the paperwork accordingly.

Dear Sir,

We are resigning from the job and joining another job. Could you please guide me on the matter of PF? Should we transfer the PF to the new employer or withdraw the PF? Please provide a brief explanation of both options and advise on the best course of action.

Thank you.

You may transfer the old PF accumulations to the new account by means of PF transfer Form 13.
