Can I Pursue a Ph.D. in HR After Completing a PGDM? Seeking Guidance!

pradeepsharp2212@gmail.co
Dear All,

I have completed PGDM, and now I am interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in HR. However, somebody mentioned that after PGDM, you cannot pursue a Ph.D. because it is a diploma, and for a Ph.D., you need to have a Master's degree, not a diploma. Is this true? Please guide me.

Thanks & Regards,
Pradeep

Hi,

Kindly indicate what kind of PGDM you have completed. If this is after graduation and is for a period of two full years, then it will usually be considered equivalent to a Post Graduation. If you have completed a one-year PGDM, then it is not considered equivalent to a PG.

Kind regards,

Dear Sir/Seniors,

Firstly, I would like to thank all seniors who replied to my query. Now, I want to clarify that the duration of my PGDM was 2 years (Regular/Full-time) and I completed it after graduation. It is approved by AICTE.

Now, I hope to receive a satisfactory answer from all my seniors.

Thanks & Regards,
Pradeep Kumar

The few exchanges here indicate the need for us to give complete details about ourselves, the courses we have completed, where and in what mode. Such information will help other bloggers give advice based on informed knowledge, rather than keep asking questions.

For example, whether a Ph.D. by distance education may not be allowed in India, but I have seen adverts by foreign universities.

Have a nice day.
