Coming back to the above question, "M/s." is used for a proprietorship company, not for a Pvt Ltd or Public Ltd company. I learned this while working with a Chartered Accountant.

As already made clear, "Messrs" is the plural form of "Mister." Here, we are addressing a group of people who comprise a company; in one shot, we are addressing a group.
