How Much Salary Should I Expect When Switching HR Jobs with 1 Year Experience?

tami
Hi all,

I am Tamanna. I have 1 year of experience in an HR Generalist role. I have completed my B.Com. and currently work in a software company where my salary is 8,000 INR per month. Can anyone tell me how much salary I can expect if I opt for a job change?

Thanks!

Hi,

The salary expectation of yours cannot be judged by others. It depends on you and how confident you are in yourself. Salary should be demanded based on your competence, not begged for. Hope you got the point.

Salary depends on the following points:

1. Your position in the organization.
2. Your experience.
3. Company policy.
4. Generally, the company will increase the salary by 20 to 25% from your previous company.

Hi Tamanna,

Don't mind, but you have to improve your English communication skills first, as you are currently working as an HR Generalist, which is very important. An HR person must have a good command over speaking and written English, and this core area expects the same, as HR is the base of an organization.

Secondly, as you want to change your job, I would like to suggest that you not change your job at this moment. You have to wait for some more time and need to learn a lot, as you have just started your career as an HR Generalist, and one year of experience is not enough, my dear.

Also, this change will have a negative impact on your profile, and you will have to answer to recruiters or a new employer as to why you opted for this change. They will perceive that you are not intending to work for any organization for a long time.

With one year of experience, as you have mentioned that you are currently earning 8K per month, you can ask for 10-12K if you have a strong knowledge and skills in your area of function and are very efficient with your work. If you have strong analytical skills, you can negotiate for 10-12K but have to demonstrate the same first.

Best of luck.
