First, you need to decide your zone of interest, whether it is in the Statutory-based jobs of HR or the Psychology-based jobs of HR.
If your zone of interest is in Psychology-based jobs, the best option is to pursue long-term courses such as:
- M.Sc. Psychology/Applied Psychology (correspondence courses available in many universities such as Madras, Annamalai, Osmania, etc.)
- M.Sc. Counselling Psychology (correspondence course at Madras University)
- M.S. Counselling and Psychotherapy (Correspondence course at Kuvambu University)
- MSW (Master of Social Work) at IGNOU/Annamalai University
- Dip TD from ISTD: a 1 year 6 months course specializing in Training and Development, recognized by the Central Govt.
For short-term courses, consider options like CRA (Certified Recruitment Analyst), CRP (Certified Retention Professional), CTP (Certified Training Professional), Certified Compensation Manager, etc. These are all one-month courses with two-day seminars held in major cities of India.
If your Zone of Interest is statutory-based, then the following courses will be useful:
- MLM (Master of Labour Management) correspondence at Annamalai University
- BGL/BBL/MGL/Dip in Labour Law and Administrative Law: correspondence courses at Annamalai University (Please note that you cannot become an advocate by studying law through correspondence as it is not recognized by the Bar Council of India. However, it will help you to understand law and be a supportive qualification).
