I am doing my ph.d on employee retention in banking sectors. I have an idea to select 6 or 8 private banks for my study. Pls help me in framing questionnaire and also for the tools to be used in analysis.

Please see my post on Research methodology and Publishing papers (Author Workshop) at CiteHR. Before you can frame a questionnaire you need to study previous papers published in that field, to learn what others have done, how and wh.
The PhD thesis has to add something new to the knowledge bank and, if you repeat what others might have already done by the time you complete yours, you may even not be awarded the degree.

The way to search for info at CiteHR is to click on "search Forum" when on Recent posts' page and search for posts by Nashbramhall on Research Methodology and Publishing

Also, framing questions comes after the literature survey and not before.

Great that you are pursuing your docterate, not everybody does it, therefore summoning help & giving help both are fair means to my mind. Now to get on Brasstacks, PFA a book on quetionnaire design, development & administration.
