Unfortunately, Six Sigma is a little-understood subject in India, with most training programs restricting themselves to 'Classroom coachings' on the concepts. Practical utility and implementation are not being offered as a course. Moreover, the practice of apprentices working on Six Sigma projects is not common, as these projects usually encounter organizational workings, practices, ethics, management styles, etc., in detail (which makes them uncomfortable). Another issue is that it is treated as a highly skilled service that can only be provided by high-end consultants or highly paid resources.

Suggestion for Implementing Six Sigma Skills

My suggestion regarding your interest in implementing Six Sigma skills is to start with a basic understanding of the various tools used in the DMAIC approach. Question the entire flow of DMAIC and various milestones. Once you understand the implementation scope of the tools, it would be fairly simple for you to grasp the mechanics of Six Sigma.

Six Sigma is a simple sequential analytical process.
