New to HR? Need Urgent Help with Setting Objectives on Attrition!

I am Sudeesh, a new member of this site. I would like you to suggest a few objectives on the topic "ATTRITION."

Please help, it's a little urgent.

I am doing a project on employee attrition, and I am not sure what kind of objectives I should write to start my project work.

Hi Sudeesh,

As you have mentioned that you are doing a project on Attrition, it would be nice if you could be more specific. For example, "Employee Attrition in xxxx company" or "Attrition in ITES/BPO industry."

If your study is specific to only a single organization, then your study will be based mainly on secondary data, i.e., through Exit Interview Forms. When an employee is leaving the company, the HR conducts an exit interview with that employee and records the data on an exit interview form. You can now go through those details to understand why that employee quit the organization. In this case, your objectives can be:

1. To collect the data from the Exit Interview Form
2. To identify the main reasons (both organizational and personal) which resulted in the resignation of the employees
3. To suggest and implement various retention schemes

3. To understand both job-related and environment-related factors that contribute to employee attrition in the BPO industry.

4. To propose various retention schemes.

Should I calculate the attrition rate? So in this case, what are my objectives?
