Seeking HR Insights: What Was the Average Salary Increase in India for 2010?

I kindly request your advice on the average salary increment in India for the year 2010. This information is needed by our Japanese Director.

In our company, this raise is as follows:
For Workmen - 25 to 30% (As per Minimum Wages) CTC
For Staff - 20 to 25%

There are various survey reports available on the compensation increase, such as Hewitt, Mercer, Hays, Watson, etc. Check there, and you will find the answer. By the way, it is too high-level to get the average increase in India. It depends on the industry you are in to decide at the organizational level. For budgeting, take 15% of the salary (gross cost with whatever name it is called).
