Please guide us on the standard guidelines and procedures for safety stock for PPE, fire extinguishers, safety shoes, foam carboys, and sand buckets in the company.

In our plant, we have separate stores and a purchase department to ensure the ready stock of safety items that are consumed on a day-to-day basis, such as hand gloves, dust masks, goggles, etc. These items are categorized under a general category called Min-Max (Minimum-Maximum). The limits are decided, for example, an expected stock of safety goggles must be between 100-500 units. If the stock falls below 100, the stores automatically generate a purchase requisition and forward it to the purchase department for procurement.

For specific one-time requirements of any materials not included in the Min-Max items, the safety department creates a purchase requisition. The Safety Department ensures the availability of quality PPEs in the store.
