Resigned Without Notice: Is My Acceptance Letter Enough as a Relieving Letter?

I have resigned from my current job without giving any notice period of 7 days as mentioned in my appointment letter as I am not a confirmed employee through mail and ready to pay in lieu of that.

Now when I asked my HR department for a relieving letter, they told me that it will be issued only after my full and final settlement and instead issued me an acceptance of resignation letter which clearly mentions that:

WE ARE IN RECEIPT OF YOUR RESIGNATION LETTER DATED 18 JULY 2010, AND IT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED WEF 18 JULY 2010. YOU WILL BE RELIEVED AFTER 18 JULY 2010, CLOSURE OF OFFICE HOURS.

Should I consider this as both acceptance of resignation and a relieving letter? Please guide me and help me.

I suppose there is nothing fishy. You generally get an experience (Exp) and relieving letter only after the full and final settlement. So once that is done on the last day, you should get the relieving.

Let me understand it a little more clearly, do you have only a 7-day notice period?

Again, "WE ARE IN RECEIPT OF YOUR RESIGNATION LETTER DATED 18 JULY 2010 AND IT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED WEF 18 JULY 2010 AND YOU WILL BE RELIEVED AFTER 18 JULY 2010 CLOSURE OF OFFICE HOURS." This is already an acceptance of the relieving mail/letter given to them. If you have any final settlement due from your company, the experience letter would be given only after the same, upon the clearance of the HR dept. and the Finance dept.

As I was not a confirmed employee, and the appointment letter clearly states that either party can terminate the contract by giving a 7-day notice period during the probation period.

I believe you have posted the same topic more than once. If you don't receive any comments on your thread, that doesn't mean you should repost the same topic. I highly recommend that you refrain from doing so.
