Need To Become SAP HR Functional Consultant (Want Guidance).

Hello,
I am currently working as a Technical recruiter with Datacore Technologies Inc. I have decided to become a SAP HR functional consultant. In a long run is their good money in SAP HR (Functional). Can I mention this recruitment experience which I have 6 months now as a domain experience? My job profile is to source profiles from job portal and various different sources and submit suitable profile to my client. I am working for RPO (US recruitment). And also do I need to have an MBA in HR to become a complete SAP HR functional consultant. If MBA is necessary please let me know, can I do my MBA through correspondence or is it necessary to pursue MBA through regular college. I am 23 years old and I have completed BE (Electronics and communication).

Nice to know that we are in the same RPO industry. As the name goes RPO is core into recruitment and we in US staffing are into something called as body shopping industry. SAP is a great option to make money. But I would suggest you to take a formal certification from Siemens or Genovate. Please do not be deceived by small time training institutes. Talking about reflecting your domain experience for SAP career, it is always good to show honest experience than to fake resumes. All IT giants have stringent BG”s and any experience faked to be general HR might invite trouble. There are different modules in SAP HR core functional that includes recruitment, PD, PA, OM, payroll, T&M. While recruitment and PD is not predominant software used by clients, one as a fresher one can hit into PA and OM.

Talking about MBA It would definitely be an added advantage for any ERP HR function. But since you have done your BE (again a technical engineering degree) I don’t think MBA is needful. Remember the thumb rule, for a fresher to get into SAP one needs to go for certification or be a faker (which I would not approve)

Considering a career shift to SAP Success factor but not for SAP HR/HCM is a commendable choice!
I recommend exploring Global certifications and attending demo classes from institutes you're interested in. You can enroll independently for global certifications, and for free self-learning, check out https://zarantech.teachable.com/. Keep in mind that your 6 months of HR experience may be considered as fresher in the SAP domain. Additionally, consider part-time enrollment in HR analytics courses from recognized universities for a brighter future.
