I was working with a software firm in Chennai. I worked there for only 50 days. At the time of joining, I signed a service agreement that stated serving a 1-month notice before leaving the company. I was frustrated with the work and the company's facilities to the extent that I quit without serving the notice period. I also had various family issues during that time.
Now, the company is asking me to return and serve the notice period, threatening legal action if I do not comply. I am willing to pay them 1 month's salary as the notice period, as per industry practice.
What should I do to avoid legal problems?
