New to SCDL PGDHRM 2010: Where Can I Find Study Materials and Assignments?

Hi friends, I am new to this forum, so please help! I just joined SCDL PGDHRM in the July '10 session. I need help from all of you regarding study materials, assignments, practice papers, etc.

Actually, I'm in Kochi and the study material I've received is in Goa. On the 10th of next month, I'll collect it and start studying. Thank God, at least I know that there is someone with me doing PGDHRM. Please keep in contact. I got some sample papers of the subject called Principles & Practices of Management. I'll email them to you. Until I receive the study material in my hands, I'm just going through these papers. Also, I am giving you my new email, i.e., ravirajparab44@gmail.com. Please let me know if you have any idea about whether the study material is sufficient to clear the assignments and exams, or if you know of any other good reference books that SCDL suggests. It seems the 1st semester ends on 31st of December, and the sem 2 starts after that. We need to start clearing the assignments and finish up with them by at least next month. Hi Anil, I got the study material you sent. What year is it from? Since 2003, i.e., from 2004, the syllabus underwent changes, rendering most of the material obsolete.

Hi all, how are your studies going on? I completed 3 units in Accounting, Business Communication, and Human Resources. I haven't touched on other subjects yet. I am planning to take my first exam on November 25th.

I really have no clue on how I will start with so much studying.. though I have started with OB. Are you guys using the live chat and virtual class? Have any of you tried to attempt the assignments for this semester??

Thank you, Raviraj. I haven't yet booked the slot as I have to look for an examination center here and take approval from SCDL. I hope I will be able to fix things soon to appear for exams.

What sort of approval are you talking about? I never took any approval at all. No, I am not referring to any other books; I am strictly doing only the SLM.

How are your studies going? When are you planning to have exams? Please do reply regarding the approval thing you mentioned. Just check for the centers and select the closest one. Have a nice day.

I would like to know which specialization you have opted for and if there is anybody who has chosen Business Operations as their specialization.

Hi, I don't stay in India, and I guess I am the only student here in this country, so I have to seek approval for my examination center and the authorized person to invigilate the exam, so I need to sort it out.

I tried to check the virtual class, but to my surprise, I found it totally useless as it doesn't explain anything in detail apart from what's written in our books. Have you tried to attempt any of the assignments so far?

Hi all, how is your progress going? I just cleared the management accounting assignment and scored 23 out of 30. Is only one attempt available, or is there a chance to improve the score?

@shilp: You seem to have answered the assignment, I suppose! Is it only one attempt that we get, or do we get a second attempt only if we fail?

I got back to the forum after a very long time. I have completed my 2 assignments (OB/HRM) and scored 21 and 23, respectively. I have also taken the OB exam and scored 42 out of 70... :( I am planning to take the HRM exam this weekend and feeling a little tense.

How's it going with all of you? Please share any sample assignments or papers if you have them. Let me know if any of you need my help.

I am very scared of the Management Accounting subject and have not started studying yet. :( :( Does anyone have the book for the 2nd semester?

This is Namratha. I too applied for SCDL PGDHRM in July 10. I have cleared the assignments for both 1 and 2 semesters and am planning to take up exams from June onwards. Currently, I am on maternity leave, so it is very difficult to manage studying and taking care of my child.
