Understanding Annual Leave: How Many Days Off Do You Really Get Each Year?

chavakrishnasudha
Hi friends,

How many leaves do we have per year? This refers to the total number of leaves available, including sick leaves and other types of leaves.

Thank you.

Hi,

Sick leave will be 8 days per year. Casual leave will be 7 days per year. Earned leave will be 15 days per year. Unutilized earned leave can be carried forward to the next leave cycle. However, the maximum earned leave that can be accumulated by an employee is 60 days. Beyond the 60-day limit, earned leave will lapse.

Dear all,

Is there any statutory obligation to give sick leave and casual leave? If yes, please mention the section with the act.

Dear all,

PL (EL) per year: 22 days - this will be credited at year-end in April only. (Over and above 60 days, only encashment eligible.)

CL per year: 10 days - this will be encashed in the month of April.

SL per year: 10 days - balance will carry over to the next year. (Over and above 30 days, lapses.)

This policy may vary from company to company.

Dear Sai Ram,

We have various types of leaves:
1. Casual Leave
2. Earned Leave
3. Sick Leave
4. Maternity Leave
5. Compensation Leave

The leave types 1 and 2 may vary based on company standards. These are the leave types as far as I know.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear Sirs,

I need help with my case. In my company, there was no power on a particular day. They informed us not to come to work, but they have not paid us for that day.

Is there any law under the Indian Labour Act that addresses this issue? Please advise, as nearly 40 people have been affected by the management's actions.

Thank you.

Our management directed me that all the leaves will be allowed according to Industrial and Labour Laws only.

In this connection, is there any statutory obligation to allow leaves by mode of Casual Leaves and Sick leaves to employees.

Hi, this is Hena. I have recently joined a new company. It's a placement cell, which is also a newly established firm. Here, I need to make HR policies. Please guide me in making HR policies regarding leave calculation, attendance, salary breakdown, etc.
