I think to be a corporate HR . u need to have a MBA(HR) degree. Now there is two kinds of coporate in todays scenario one which is a branded concern and the other which is not a branded one. In non branded ones ,they might take you even if you are not a MBA (HR).But the bottom line is that everyone need to climb the ladder. to get progress as in designation as well you should be a MBA (HR) that is always an addedd advantage for you. for ex: in case there is in individual who as the same experience as yours the second criteria what they look is for your qualification . So it would be advicable that you should take a degree in MBA(HR) may be through correspondence or a part time (as you r employeed).
thanx

HI..........
According to my opinion in HR field ... as a recruiter is the best step...
that to if you get as arecruiter in consulatancy then you will get exposure to different verticals.........I can say one thing that "" Chances favours the prepared mind""
So working as a recruiter , you just get the knowledge of all HR activities.....
and be prepared
Thanks

Hi Mamta,
Ofcourse, your recruitment experience in a recruitment house will help you but not very much. It depends on the tasks you are doing in the whole recruitment process. If its just screening the resumes and taking telephonic rounds, then it will not be so much helpful. If it includes taking face to face interviews then it will be beneficial. But you should not spend much of ur time in a consultancy. Just try to move out into a corporate.

Does anybody think the job of Executive assistant to Gerneral manager of a good MNC will do help to develop skills and do good to further development in HR field?
My short work experience contain 1.5 years in employee relation and 1 year as training coordinator. I do want to broaden my knowledge and work as a HR in future, but I haven't decided which function I would like to focus.
I learned that as a EA, one can learn from a very professional people and one can know different departments better and maybe sometimes can know how great stratigies come out which would be beneficial to be a great HR(know business better).
But I am afraid maybe that will be too much admin work and I should consider maybe other fields that is much closer to hr,like recruiting?
