Considering a Career in Training: Is the ISTD Diploma the Right Choice for Me?

I am an HR professional and I want to make a career in training. I found that a diploma in training is given by the Indian Society for Training and Development. Do you suggest I go for that course? Are there any other institutes that offer courses in training?

Hi Sundar Jayram,

I think the ISTD diploma is the only certified course for trainers recognized by the Ministry of HRD, India. I am currently pursuing the course, and I am not aware of any other such course. Being an HR professional, I guess it wouldn't be difficult for you to get the degree. This course would be a valuable addition to your resume.

I have a fair idea now after going through the earlier discussions on ISTD. However, my main concern is how do I contact them? Their site is not opening, and I don't know when the admissions happen and how.

Hello,

ISTD admissions are done twice a year - in January and July. However, the last date for submission of completed forms is 30th November for the January batch and 31st May for the July batch.

Hello, I am planning to take up a Diploma in Training and Development from ISTD. I am a postgraduate in Science and working as a trainer with an HR consultancy, but my experience is less than 2 years. Am I eligible to apply for the course?

Is a project needing long leaves part of the curriculum? At what part of the course is that?

I would like to join this course but would need clarity on the above before I apply.
