Planning a Surprise Farewell Party for Our Retiring CEO: How Can I Make It Memorable and Fun?

geet.raj
Good morning to all,

Our CEO is retiring next month, and the new CEO has already taken charge. So, currently, we have two CEOs. The new CEO wants to throw a surprise farewell party for the old CEO and has given me the responsibility of event management.

We are planning to invite all the big shots of the company, including the Board of Directors, all employees, and their families. We have to take care of everything from printing invitations to deciding on gifts and all other arrangements.

We are planning for a 3-hour party. Since all the seniors will be there, there will be some speeches and other activities. However, I also want to keep the party lively and engaging. Please help me out with your suggestions for the party.

Regards,
Geets

Hi Geets, probably you can take a small video and ask your employees to say a few words about your old CEO and give him best wishes for his future. Make a CD of it and play it for him in the crowd. Trust me, this would be a good gift and a cherished memory for him from your company. We did this for our CEO for his birthday; he was in tears and said it was the best gift he ever received.

Hello Geets,

I agree with Saritha's reply. You can also inform your staff members to speak about your CEO, capture their voices, and play it at the party. Additionally, you can conduct a small game focused on your CEO.

You can probably go for some video shoots or snapshots of the achievements and major milestones that the company has reached under your old CEO's leadership. This needs to be presented by your new CEO.

You can also do a presentation of those moments that were captured during his tenure. JOURNEY TOWARDS THE DESTINY - prepare a good article with all the snaps and achievements, copy it on a CD, and present it to your CEO. I think this would be the best gift to the Captain (CEO) from his Sailors (his team) of his ship (Circle, of course).

Arrange for some games, speeches from the ED member and the new CEO, and some light music. This would be a value addition to the farewell party.

All the best and do your best. I'm sure it will be very lively and emotional.
