Starting Production in Pune: Do We Need MPCB Approval First?

Dear Friends, we are planning to start a new plant in the Pune area, and for that, we have already obtained the Factory license, PF No, PT No, sanction from the government, approval from the local authority, etc. So, my question is, can we start production activity now, or do we need to first obtain MPCB approval? Please help.

CTE Application Process

The Consent to Establish (CTE) application must be submitted along with the requisite fee for the Water & Air (Pollution) Act. Upon receiving CTE sanction, the Consent to Operate (CTO) application should be submitted as well.

Does this mean starting the construction of a new plant or beginning production? It is not clear. If the intention is to commence construction, then you should promptly work on obtaining the Consent To Establish first. Without the Consent to Establish, you are not permitted to initiate the construction of the plant. Subsequently, in order to obtain the Consent to Operate, you will need to submit a copy of the Consent to Establish that you have acquired.

You must determine whether your industry falls under any exemption category. Obtaining approvals from PCBs can be a lengthy process. Therefore, it is essential to act swiftly. Initiating operations without the necessary approvals will lead to unnecessary troubles.
