Age Limit for ESI and EPF Membership

There is no age limit for membership in ESI and EPF. However, for contribution to the Pension Fund of EPF, the age limit is 58. This means an employee over 58 years of age can become a member of the Provident Fund and contribute 12% or a higher voluntary contribution as desired towards PF. But the employer, who is supposed to contribute 8.33% to the Pension Fund and 3.67% to the Provident Fund, shall contribute the entire 12% to the Provident Fund. Regarding ESI, there is no age limit at all. Benefits will also be available until the end of contributions.
