The amended Act of Payment of Gratuity Act, where the limit is increased to 10 lakhs, is enforced from 24-May-2010 as declared in the Gazette of 18-May-2010.

If your educational institution is covered under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, then you are entitled to receive gratuity from the employer in accordance with Section 4 of this Act. Please go through Section 4 of this Act for eligibility and entitlement.
