Key Result Areas(KRA) could be defined for an organisation/department/sub department as the case may be depending upon the position you hold in the firm to draw up the mission/objectives that is envisaged/deduced from the organisational goals and objectives. This could be short term(3 months), medium term(6 months) or long term(1 year) as determioned from the overall objectives. The stated objectives whether met/ not accomplished could be used to evaluate a person in his final assessment during reporting upon. While this methodology is a good way to assess people, there is a requirement for supervisors to keep a close tab on the progress made by the individual in those areas, so as to ensure that the autonomy and freedom provided to the person is in tune with the overall objectives of the organisation.
