Defining Key Result Areas (KRA)
Key Result Areas (KRA) can be defined for an organization, department, or sub-department, depending on the position held in the firm, to establish the mission and objectives derived from the organizational goals. These KRAs can be short-term (3 months), medium-term (6 months), or long-term (1 year), as determined by the overall objectives.
The achievement or non-achievement of these stated objectives can be used to evaluate an individual during their final assessment. While this methodology is an effective way to assess people, supervisors need to closely monitor the progress made by individuals in these areas to ensure that the autonomy and freedom provided align with the organization's overall objectives.
