ESI Eligibility Question: When Can a New Employee Start Claiming Benefits?

I have a simple question...

Say, if a candidate joins an organization on the 1st of April 2010 and is eligible for ESI, from when can he claim the ESI if he requires it?

Under ESI, there are mainly two types of benefits: 1. Medical Benefit and 2. Cash Benefit.
For medical benefits, the day from which an employee joins a Covered unit, they will be entitled to medical benefits, including their family members.
For Cash Benefits, such as Sickness Benefit, Disablement Benefit, Maternity Benefit, Funeral Benefit, etc., each benefit has its own minimum requirements. Except for Disablement Benefit (accident benefit) and funeral benefit, for which the employee is entitled from the moment they join in insurable employment.

For the contribution period from April 2010 to September 2010, you can claim in the month of January 2011.

If an employee joined on 1st April 2010, the return of contributions will be submitted to the ESI during April or September of every year. They are eligible for ESI benefits only after September 2010, following the submission of six months' contributions to the ESI.
