Hello, Senior, please tell me about the amendment in the Gratuity Act regarding the maximum gratuity amount of ten lakhs rupees. When will it be applicable or is it already applicable? Will the other terms and conditions remain the same or will there be any differences?

Enhancement of gratuity from 3.5L to 10L came into force on 24 May 2010. I would like to know from which day of retirement the employee will get the benefit.

More clearly, if a person retired before 24 May 2010, whether he will receive the benefit or not?
