Maternity leave - eligible for paid holidays & Sundays falling during the time?

Hi All
Can anyone help me in getting clarification about maternity leave? I want to know whether an employee availing maternity leave is eligible for paid holidays & sundays falling during the time of maternity leave.
Thanks

Salary or payment to an employee for the maternity leave period will be inclusive of holidays and off days falling within the said period. In otherwords, if an employee is availing maternity leave from 1st August she will be getting full salary for the month of August as if she had worked for all the 31 days without considering a public/ national holiday(15th August) and four Sundays(off days)

Thank you for the reply. It is definitely helpful information for me. But I further need a clarification on that. If I take the above said case as of August, whether we have to take 26 days as maternity leave or 31 days as maternity leave. My question is that whether Sundays & Paid holidays will be treated as normal holidays or we have to put maternity leave on Sundays & paid holidays.
Thanks & Regards

My parent company in the US offers paternity leave it but there is no law in India to support this form of equal rights.
Do companies support this kind of leave ?

In fact progressive companies have also started giving paid leave (maternal as well paternal) in case of legal adoption of child. Quantum of leave vary from the company to company. This is to help the family and the child settle well / bond together. It is also considered as their contribution to CSR.

Dear All,
I would like to know more about the Maternity Act Benefit in case of Surrogacy and also in case of in-vitro fertilization.
Do these two scenario have the same consideration in the Law as far as benefits are concerned? Will the mother be eligible for the same benefits in case of the above two scenarios?
Looking forward for your responses.
Warm Regards
