Understanding Privilege Leave: Should Holidays Count as Days Worked for Leave Calculation?

As per the Factories Act, privilege leave is to be given at a rate of 1 day for every 20 days worked. The emphasis is not on working days, but on days worked. Therefore, the question is whether if one is availing casual leave, privilege leave, or festival paid holiday, should such leave days be calculated as days worked for the purpose of calculating privilege leave due.

That's right, it should be calculated on the working days leave basis, not for any holiday or weekly off preceding or intervening leave period. Also, it depends on the company policy—what the policy defines matters a lot.
