I have observed this fighting spirits in cockroaches as well...
I have to tell u guys...Once in my bathroom when i saw a cockroach i tried to expel (not kill...) him/her (?)(does it matter.?..lets say 'it') by gushing it with water...i did so...it went into the closet and came up ... there he clung to the corner so tight that when i threw water forcefully on it...it went down.. i again threw water ..but he kept coming out again n again..but the cockroach refused to lose...i had to give up.. he was fighting like hell..i think this fighting spirit of such a small insect is smthing we can learn ...specially those children who end their life on really trivial things of life...
