Can Ad-Hoc Female Employees in Civil Services Get Maternity Leave? Seeking Clarity on Rules

Hi,

I want to know whether maternity or any similar kind of leave can be granted to an ad-hoc female employee of the central government (civil services). Kindly let me know the rule/act. I shall be thankful.

Ad-hoc employees of government departments are not eligible for maternity benefits. I understand this is because these employees are governed by the central service or state service rules and not the Maternity Benefits Act.
