Dear Prof.Raj

A good story (bit lengthy) on the importance of soft skills. But a graduate from a Top B School, not knowing about soft skills........ unable to believe. Each and every college and B School have been giving and imparting several soft skills to their students.

If the candidate had been cutting short all other candidates in the GD, in all probability, he would have been eliminated there itself and would not have gone to the interview stage.

If he had been poor in soft skills on the whole, he is unlikely to properly answer even the other questions since soft skills is all about communication, attitude, enthusiasm, image and so on.

I do hope you'll be able to take up my suggestions in the right tone in which it is conveyed. Being a Soft Skills Trainer and also a faculty in several B Schools, thought I should voice my opinion.

I'm also intrigued by the contents and the Title. There's no connection between the story and the title. Any special reason?

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT SOFT SKILLS TRAINING IS VERY IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY FOR SUPERVISORY & MANAGEMENT CADRES.
IT IS NECESSARY FOR HR INITIATIVES TO INCLUDE TRAINING ON SOFT SKILLS .

Dear Prof,
I am an ardent advocate of soft skills in all spheres of life-why do we always link these skills with our jobs only?? and not use them in everyday life?? try asking a waiter his name and then address him/her by their name throughout your stay in a restaurant-you will be treated as a VIP.
I agree with some of the views given above wherein the link between the title and the essence of the anecdote is missing?? Prof -please do not take me wrong but I felt that the layout could have been a little easier on the eyes?
Nice one.

Hi,
Nice story, the points raised by Mr.Arun seems to be correct but i will leave the decision to the readers .You will find lot (most) of MBA students fail badly in Soft skills.Soft skills is not only communication, attitude, enthusiasm, image and so on but also intergrity, values , vision , influencing , leading by example and so which exhibited by the visible softskills of communication, attitude, enthusiasm, image and so on .....
Who were running the companies that lost the share value and the shareholders and many the companies itself .Look at companies which are created from people grounded in softskills....
Sorry if i am hurting a segment of people.

Hello Sir,
The story was impressive. Yeah its obvious that you at certain point won't believe this to be a true story but i understood the importance of the story, that is, this story gives you a way to all those young graduates from the B School that how important soft skill is to get the job.
I do understand that this soft skills is a part of a subject but most of the students never follow what they study but follow what they experienced.
No hard feelings through my comments for anyone though if you find it offensive kindly accept my apologies for the same.
Regards,
Balajee S
