Employee relations focus on individual employees, with an emphasis on disciplining them through counseling, punitive action, and training.

Industrial relations aim at collective bargaining and disciplining through negotiations, with the union at the center of attention.

Industrial relations : those aspects of collective relations between management and workers' representatives which are normally covered by collective bargaining.
Employee Relations:“Employee Relations involves the body of work concerned with maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale. Essentially, Employee Relations is concerned with preventing and resolving problems involving individuals which arise out of or affect work situations.”

Dear Member,

In short, Industrial Relations = Relationship with your family. Employee Relations = Relationship with your spouse and child.
