Employee Relations focus on individual employees and emphasis is on disciplining them through counselling, punitive action and training
Industrail realation aims at collective bargaining and disciplining through negotiations. Union gets the focus.

Industrial relations : those aspects of collective relations between management and workers' representatives which are normally covered by collective bargaining.
Employee Relations:“Employee Relations involves the body of work concerned with maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale. Essentially, Employee Relations is concerned with preventing and resolving problems involving individuals which arise out of or affect work situations.”

Dear Member,
In short,
Industrial Relation = Relationship with your family
Employee Relation = Relationship with your spouse and child.
