Worried About Medical Test Results for New Job at HDFC Bank – What Should I Do Next?

soniyak26
Hi there,

I have been selected for HDFC Bank as an Assistant Manager. However, after completing my medical examination, the HR department contacted me three days later and informed me that I need to undergo the medical tests again. They did not disclose the specific issue. I opted for a private medical test recently, and the results came back normal. I am uncertain about what may have gone wrong with the HDFC medical examination. It has been almost 10 days, and I have not received any communication from the HR team at HDFC regarding the medical tests. I am unsure if I will be rejected or given another opportunity. This chance means a lot to me.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Hi Soniya,

Instead of assuming things, it's better if you can get in touch with the HR of HDFC and know your status. As the results in the report were positive, I think there is nothing to worry. Good luck.

Hello Soniya,

Please go to the government hospital and get the medical certificate. Submit this certificate to the HR department at HDFC. I am sure you will not be rejected.

Dear S.,

Medical fitness definitions differ from organization to organization. Color blindness, liver problems, diabetes, heart conditions, chronic disease, and life-threatening ailments are the usual reasons for medical unfitness. You can understand HDFC's definition by recalling all the tests you had to undergo at HDFC's cost and empaneled clinics. Medical unfitness may also be provisional or permanent. Sometimes, some indicators of the tests may point to some problems for which further tests may be necessary. These further tests are always at the expense of the joiner and not the organization. However, if your reports are okay for these tests, then you need not worry. Submit these results to the HR of the bank, and they will contact you once their empaneled doctors clear these reports.

Please also understand that it is not obligatory on the part of HDFC to inform you of the test reports done at their cost. Whether it is morally right is a different issue.
