Worried About My Experience Letter After Resigning on Leave – What Should I Do?

I did a big blunder by resigning from my organization while on leave. Thereafter, they sent me threats, etc. Now they have sent me a big amount as my settlement, which I need to pay (I was under an onsite service bond when I resigned).

I am ready to pay, but the HR person is not giving me any confirmation about my experience letter. I fear:

1. They may not provide me with an experience letter even after my settlement.
2. Even if they do, they might include too many negative aspects in it. He already told me that the reason for resigning shall be "abandonment of job."

Please help me decide what to do? Thanks in advance.

Please provide more details regarding your date of joining, the period of the bond (for how many years), how you sent the resignation letter, and proof of having sent the email.

However, since you have resigned from the Organization during your leave, you cannot be considered to have abandoned the services. We hope that the leave was approved, duly authorizing your absence, and that your resignation letter is dated within this approved leave period.

Regarding your relieving letter or experience letter:

a) Since you are willing to pay the bond amount as per the agreement,

b) Presuming that you have returned all the materials including laptops, mobile phones, CDs, files, documents, etc., to the relevant parties at the Organization and have obtained a certificate to that effect,

c) And have cleared all the dues pending against you, including any advances you may have taken,

We do not see any reason why the HR department should deny you the relieving letter/experience letter.

Perhaps you can reach out to the head of the HR department, present your case along with the no-due clearance certificates from all relevant departments/divisions, and we are confident that the Chief of HR will take necessary action.

Please try to personally contact senior officials and explain your need for the experience letter and the reasons for resigning from an esteemed organization like the one you were a part of.

I have 2.5 years of experience in that organization and have settled all outstanding dues with them, obtaining receipts as proof. They have informed me that due to my manager not approving my resignation, they are unwilling to provide me with a relieving letter.

I resigned by sending an official resignation email from my work email account. My concern is whether stating the reason for resignation as "abandonment of job" would significantly impact applications for visas or changing jobs.
