Why No National Mourning for CRPF Heroes? Let's Discuss the Real Issues Behind It

Suresh_kms
I wonder why we didn't have any kind of national mourning after 76 of our CRPF personnel were massacred in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh. The Centre and state governments are competing with each other to declare mornings and holidays when some political or religious leaders die, highlighting the 'valuable' contribution they made to our country and society. The families of those policemen may be rewarded with lakhs and jobs, but none of these politicians or bureaucrats would risk their lives even for lakhs or crores. What kind of country do we live in now? I think India is the only country on earth where human life is so trivial.

This incident also points to the fact that despite the vast expenditure involved in modernizing our security forces, nothing concrete has happened at the ground level. There is a lot of corruption happening in security establishments, and a significant gap exists between the ranks in terms of facilities, which reflects in the morale and fighting spirit of the personnel.

At least we, the CiteHR members, may please remember those who died fighting for our future. Please share your comments on this topic so that we can create some awareness among the general public about the internal threats India is facing.

Jai Hind.

Yes, I do agree with your points. Even media persons play a vital role. These kinds of news and updates should be on the headlines and top priority rather than sex scandals or commercial issues. Media should light the fire to create an awareness for the public to realize the sacrifice. Let's make it meaningful for the blood they shed.

We, Citehrans, should express our deepest condolences to those who have lost their lives, such as victims in Jenin.

I really agree that nobody is coming forward for such a big issue. Even our media is so silent about the whole issue.

Yaaa, I strictly condemn the incident which occurred in Chhattisgarh, costing 76 members their lives. These types of incidents should not be encouraged by the people and media. In my point of view, our Indian government is a corrupted government, and we all should look forward to a change in people's behavior and perception. My deepest condolences to all the jawans who were murdered in this unexpected incident.

Hi! This is Murali. We from Citehrans should express our deepest condolences for all those who lost lives yesterday. Instead of complaining about the country, can we not together help these CRPF families from Citehr group and then show all these politicians that we can also support you guys? Can sit, eat, and enjoy. Will I be supported by the group?

I truly agree with all the above points. These Naxalites are killing our CRPF left, right, and centre. The dialogue between Naxalites and our concerned authorities has failed, but still, our Home Minister Mr. Chidambaram says that the army will not be used against them. Can't we learn from Sri Lanka? How they finished Veerappan with the help of the army. India only believes in dialogues and not in ACTION. TRULY SHAMEFUL.

Hi Suresh,

I, Kavita, express my deepest condolences for all our brave CRPF personnel who lost their lives yesterday in a Naxal attack. At least we, as CiteHR members, have a platform to express our grief for such a great loss to the country.

Dear members,

Thank you to everyone who expressed their views on this emotional subject. Even though we don't expect things to change in a drastic manner, at least we can make the world aware by making some kind of noise about the unjustifiable things happening around us. No country can progress just by depending on its leaders alone; especially in a democracy, citizens' participation is a must.

Thanks again... Jai Hind

Hi Rahoof,

Thank you for your input. I have reviewed your message and made the necessary corrections for spelling, grammar, and punctuation:

Great thinking, Suresh! Indeed, it is a big shame for all of us. No one thinks about our soldiers who are risking their lives just to protect us. Shame!! Shame!! People just keep on talking about IPL only. I have seen very minimal discussions about these in our media. Mr. Chidambaram and Mr. Antony, wake up and act. Do you think a SORRY is enough? At least by taking the moral responsibility, you should have resigned from your posts. I am expressing my deep condolences to the family members of our brave C.R.P.F. jawans who were brutally massacred by Naxal terrorists. Jai Hind.

I hope these corrections align with your intended message. Let me know if you need further assistance.

The uniform (Defence-Army/CRPF) that creates a hair-raising feel is buried today because of these politicians & leaders promoting peace.

I am astonished watching news about holidays, mourning sessions, and statues for the passed politicians. But I can't understand why the government is not utilizing its energy to uplift the marginalized people, as we know "diamond can be cut with the same."

Let's raise our voice to urge the Government to demonstrate India's power in establishing lasting peace!

Vandemataram! Jaihind!!

Dear members,

I, Vijay Kumar, express my deep condolences and sympathy for those who devoted their lives to our nation and to those who are still struggling for us, so-called INDIANS. In our country, for 15,000 politicians, there are more than 47,000 security personnel employed, and that too for those people who are good only for making promises and are otherwise good for nothing.

I am just an engineering student involved in conducting certain types of management classes. I just want to ask my seniors here, can't we people do anything for our brave soldiers and their families, at least a march or anything that we can conduct together?

Please do let me know because I seriously want to work out something for them, not just because 76 security personnel lost their lives. I always salute and want to do something for our soldiers.

Please seniors, suggest something regarding this issue, and I HOPE that we, citizens, can do something together for them.

My email id is: vijay.kr89@gmail.com

Thanks again... Jai Hind

Hello,

I also agree with this. The media should give more importance to these types of issues as they are the best medium for awareness and action.

Hi,

Kudos for bringing up this topic. You are absolutely right. I guess we are getting used to taking things for granted. Unless a big apocalypse hits us, we are not going to get up from the shackles of our sleep. I know one person cannot make a difference, but then we never try. After all, we never know the limits of our determination.

I am not able to understand what we can achieve by marching in protest or by lighting candles at some monuments. Are these the means to awaken our politicians, spread awareness about the events in the country, or a way to mourn the deaths of innocent people?

I believe our media is already doing enough on this matter. Until our media covers this, it is unlikely to reach the common man. So, what is the benefit of all these actions?

Unless we rise from our slumber, we will remain unawakened, unaware of our rights, and nothing will change.

As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

First, I, Sharat, express my deep condolences for all our brave CRPF personnel who lost their lives yesterday in a Naxal attack.

Second, I think otherwise. Had the government declared it a national day of mourning, it would have fulfilled the objective of Naxal terrorists. It might have boosted their ego. Remember, terrorists want to draw attention. Isn't it so?

As our country is highly populated, the value of life is very simple in this country. In addition, our politicians never give our soldiers their dues. The number of soldiers are dying on our border daily as our politicians have made this routine. No one takes strict action against those killers. Still trying diplomatic tactics...! Uff... Well, I am not against it. But we should scare our enemy before thinking anything against us. In developed countries like the U.S., U.K., Japan, etc., the value for their soldiers is extremely high. Anyhow, one good leader can change this. Let's wait for that one.

You are right, shame on India, shame on us. This feeling should be taken as a movement. Indians give much respect to cricket players, whereas those dedicated Jawans are treated as nothing. The Indian government values only those players who play for themselves, but neither the government nor the majority of citizens respect the value of the jawans who sacrifice themselves for the nation's cause.

Now it is the right time to think on this. Do you feel the same?
