Struggling to Get Job Offers After Relocating: What Could Be Wrong with My Resume?

I am currently working as an Assistant Manager (A&F) in Bangalore. Due to some personal reasons, I am looking to relocate to Hyderabad. I have been applying for jobs for the past 3-4 months, but I have not received any responses from employers. I have attached my resume for your reference. I have been through the same problem. The seniors suggested some tips, and I tried them, and it worked. I am getting interview calls. Below are the tips:

- Make your resume short, i.e., a maximum of two pages.
- Fonts should be the same in size and type.
- After objectives, place work experience, then qualifications, and then personal details.
- Write only the required information.

If any company from Hyderabad is hiring, they will first look at candidates from Hyderabad. If they are unable to find candidates from Hyderabad, then they will consider candidates from Bangalore or Chennai. If you have experience in Accounting and Finance, there are many profiles from Hyderabad on job portals.

Here's a suggestion: When posting your resume on job portals, make sure to mention your current location as Hyderabad. If asked, you can inform them that you are on leave for 7 days and are currently in Hyderabad, available for a face-to-face interview there.

Don't be so disheartened. I have gone through your CV. I must mention that you have only listed your responsibilities, which are common to your work. It's required to let the interviewer know what type of responsibilities you took. But most of the candidates who will be applying must be coming up with such resumes. You have to set yourself apart, right?

Looking at your resume, I felt, where are your competencies? Merely stating the job responsibilities won't work as much as stating your competencies in handling those jobs will. So I have some suggestions:

1. Pick up some of the most important and relevant responsibilities and state some career achievements in handling those.
2. Put those under the heading 'career achievements.'
3. Make the list of responsibilities brief and concise. Take care that the list does not bore the reader who picks up your CV to have a look at it.

I think highlighting some facts about your career achievements will work. So you can revamp a bit of your CV stating those and put the personal details on the last page. First will come your:

- Career objectives
- Career achievements
- Work experience and responsibilities
- Academic qualifications
- Professional qualifications
- Personal details.
