Curious About HRIS? Seeking Guidance on Starting a Career in HR Tech

I would like to know some information on HRIS. I am currently working as a Recruiter and am totally new to HRIS. I would request you to shed some light on this. Also, please suggest how a person should go about pursuing this as a career.

HRIS is the Human Resource Information System. It is an online system which takes care of leaves, attendance, travel, etc. Each employee has their own username and login through which they can enter their leaves, travel, etc. The HRIS system helps in reducing paperwork. At the end of the month, a report is generated from the HRIS for leave, travel, etc., which is used by the HR department for salary purposes. HRIS also contains the complete data of employees, which can be accessed at any point by running reports.

Here is a PowerPoint presentation on HRIS. I hope you find it useful. I had downloaded it from a public source on the internet sometime back; however, I do not remember the exact source.

Regarding a career in HRIS, you can enter into either its sales/presales or functional consultant profile. With a background as a recruiter, I believe the best-suited option would be a functional consultant profile.
