Seeking Authentic Document on Proposed ESI Ceiling Changes Effective April 2010?

Can anyone please share the detailed authentic document or Gazette for the proposed ESI ceiling? I heard it would be effective from April 2010 onwards. If anyone could provide authentic information, we can circulate the same to the employees and update the payroll department.

Unless otherwise, if you receive a letter from the concerned authority, please do not declare anything. Your ESI branch manager will guide you in this regard. Anyway, please find the attached file for your clarification.

The ESCI Gazette dated 26-2-2010, the limit of Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 is only under consideration for objection and suggestion. Please read the Gazette carefully; the date of notification or applicability is not mentioned in the official gazette.

If anyone has any notification regarding the date of applicability, please provide the same.

It seems everybody is aware of the ceiling enhancement, but no one is sure about the G.O. Is it issued yet?

Hi,

ESIC ceiling has been proposed to be changed, but it has not been implemented yet. Someone filed a petition regarding it, and the hearing will be in 4-5 days. So, until then, it's only ₹10,000.

As of today, the G.O. is not released. Until we get the circular, let us be cool.

The corporation has approved the wage enhancement, and accordingly, the Government of India has published the GO dated 26-02-2010, calling for objections, if any, from the public within 45 days. The deadline has now passed. The Government of India must issue the final notification, fixing the date for implementation, which will be prospective and not retrospective. Please keep an eye on the GO.

Friends, since I was there in a meeting in my state, i.e., Odisha, this will be effective from April. We might get the details sooner this month. Otherwise, it's better to contact our local ESI branch manager.

There is no official intimation or gazette in this regard, i.e., ESI ceiling is raised to 15000.
