Understanding the Compulsory Notification of Vacancies Act: Do All Job Openings Need to Be Reported?

p.sathiyamoorthy
Hi,

Is it necessary to notify all vacancies under the Compulsory Notification of Vacancies Act? How do employers get themselves exempted from not notifying the vacancies?

Thank you.

It is mandatory to notify vacancies to the Employment Exchange under the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959. At the same time, it is not mandatory that he should recruit persons from the list of candidates given by the Employment Officer against any notified vacancy.

I agree, Mr. Madhu.

When we look at the Appointments column of any newspaper, there are a lot of vacancies. Do you believe all these vacancies get notified? There should be some way out. By the way, many a time, the data sent by the Employment Exchange is useless.

Is it necessary for an employer to register under this act? How do employers get themselves exempted from this? Is there any annual payment like PT? Do we need to pay monthly returns as well? What are the obligations?

Please let me know ASAP. The CNV inspectors visited our office for inspection.
