Confused About the New Combined PF & ESI Challan for SMEs? Let's Discuss What It Means for Us

Sriram N
Hi,

I'm not sure if this has been posted earlier in this forum. Attached is a circular issued by the Ministry of Labour regarding a single challan for PF and ESI remittance, specifically for SMEs. I am still unclear on certain aspects, but this new process will be effective from April 2010.

Dear all,

Can you help me understand what S.O.P. (Standard Operating Procedure) is and how it relates to tasks such as Finishing, Packing, Stitching, Security, Store, and other operations?

Thank you for sharing the common combined challan for both PF and ESI, which is very useful. Keep it up.

Dear All,

I need some clarification about HRA and housing loans. For example, I took a housing loan in my native place, and now I am residing in Chennai. Can I claim both benefits for tax exemption? Please help me.

Please clarify how many copies of the challan we have to deposit with the cheque for ESIC/PF. Do we need to make only one cheque for ESIC/PF? Also, do we start this format from April contribution or March contribution?

Please help.

Ajay Kumar
