Salary Breakdown Confusion: Can Someone Help Me Understand My Monthly Pay?

Rs.4410 – Rs.13210 + DA, HRA, CCA, Conveyance Allowance. Gratuity, Pension, LFC, Medical Aid etc
can anybody explain me this break up and mention what is the exact salary for one month

Dear Ms. Shaila,

Salary breakup depends upon the company. Normally, the basic salary will be 50% of the gross salary, and DA is fixed by the government. HRA is 50% of the basic. The rest can be calculated according to the gross salary.

For example, if the gross salary is 15000:
Basic: 7500
HRA: 3750
Conveyance: 800
Medical Allowance: 1500
Other Allowances: 1450

Standard Salary Structure -

Considering annual CTC is 6 L. Basic salary = 30% of CTC = 1.80 L. HRA = 60% of Basic = 1.08 L. PF = 12% Basic = 18,600. Gratuity - 4.81% of Basic - around 8,000 (please do the exact calculation). Medical - 15,000 standard P.A. Travel allowance - 9,600 P.A. The rest of the remaining amount goes into DA or city allowance or executive pay, i.e., according to the organization's given word. Taxes - standard deductions like 80C, 80CCC, 80D, 80GG, etc.

Dear Ms. Shaila,

Salary breakdown always depends upon the annual CTC:

- Basic + DA = 20%-40%
- HRA = 40% non-metro city, 50% metro city
- Medical allowance = 15000 (slab) or ESIC 1.75% on basic
- T.A = 9600
- LTA = 5-10% on CTC
- Sodexo meal voucher = 1000
- BONUS = 8.33% of B + DA
- Gratuity = 4.82% on B + DA
- Other allowances = Total CTC - Total salary breakdown.

Besides Basic + DA at 60%, the other components can be as follows:

- HRA = 40% of basic
- Medical = $1250 per month
- Conveyance = $9600
- Performance allowance fixed =
- Special allowance
- LTA = 10% of basic salary
- PF at 12.24% of basic
- Gratuity at 4.81%
- Education allowance
- ESI at 6.75%
- Bonus at 8.33% = 1 month basic salary paid annually

After adding all the components, the balance of the agreed CTC goes to special allowance.

Logic is very simple. As per the act, gratuity is payable on 15 days of basic pay after the completion of five years of service. For example, basic/26 * 15 as per the act. If you multiply 4.81% in basic, the same amount will come. I think now you're clear.
