Navigating HR Career in the BPO Industry: Growth Opportunities and Industry Transitions

Ravster
Hello everyone! I would like to ask HR professionals and other experienced members for their opinions and advice regarding HR in the BPO industry. I have completed my MBA with an HR specialization, and the number of openings for freshers in our college is quite limited. Now, one of the top BPOs has come for hiring HR students.

My question is, should a fresher go for a BPO? Is there growth? Can we switch from the BPO industry to another industry after a few years? I would request members to please give their valuable feedback.

Thank you

Yes, you can join a BPO or any industry when you are a fresher and whenever an opportunity knocks on your door. However, you can change the industry after gaining relevant experience at any point in time. It will help in grooming oneself with diversified experience working across various industries. It will help you a lot. Good luck.

Hi,

I am in BPO/KPO HR. Working in a BPO company is good for gaining experience. People work here 24/7, with leaves only on Sundays. There are only three leaves in a year – 26th Jan, 15th Aug, and 2nd Oct. There are no other festival leaves. Recruitment is an ongoing process in all BPO/KPO companies. We work here in shifts. After a few years, you can change the industry. I like it.

Hey, I'm pursuing an MBA from the Army Institute of Management & Technology. I'm currently in the 2nd semester and I am looking for a summer internship in the KPO/BPO sector. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just Go Ahead!

The ITES Sector is again showing trends of improvement. Get in, learn the job well, gain some experience for a couple of years, and then the turf is all for yourself.

All the best

Hi, my name is Amit. There is an opening in Bharti-Walmart in their HR Department. You can try in this company if you are interested. Best of luck.

Well, it doesn't matter which industry you're into, as long as you have domain knowledge. As you're going to start your career, I think working in a BPO will add value to your resume. The recruitment profile in the BPO industry is much more competitive compared to any other industry. Also, take a look at the profile they are assigning you to. If it's in Employee Relations, then you can't ask for a better profile than that as you will learn a lot from the industry. All the best.

With regards,
Kinkar

Hi,
I am working in the IT industry in a general HR role. According to me, BPO-HRD is quite different from any other industry as far as HRD is concerned. Also, I don't think it's easy to transition into another industry once you have gained experience in BPO-HRD.

Hi,

I have completed my MBA with HR specialization and I'm a fresher. I've tried jobs in many manufacturing industries and IT sectors but could not find my desired way. I'm getting a lot of opportunity knockings from consultancies for a recruiter. Is that really valuable to march for a better future? Can you please suggest me? I'm very much interested in going for HR generalist operations like payroll, compensation management. What do I have to do for it? Kindly do the needful by suggesting your opinions.
