bhatia.puja
Hi,

I am looking for a handbook that talks about the laws pertaining to the employee lifecycle (hiring rules, contracts, compensation benefits, etc.) for the following countries: China, Poland, the US, and Japan.

Thanks,
Pooja

Pooja,

I am not getting you. What are you saying? There is no law relating to lifestyle. Please clarify your query.

In case of office, refer to your state's Shop Establishment Act. In case of the factory, refer to the Factory Act 1948.

As per the Factory Act, the leave entitlement is one day for every 20 days worked for adults and one day for every 15 days worked for young adults.

Hi Anupam,

Could you please explain this with an example, i.e., one day for 20 days worked, etc.? Also, which act would be relevant for a sales and marketing firm?

Thanks :)

Hello Sir,

I'm Renu. Do you know about different types of leave? Please suggest to me which type of leave and how to maintain it.

Hi Pranita,

As per the Factory Act of 1948, if any worker works for 240 days in a calendar year, he will be eligible for leave as follows: one day for every 20 days worked. For example, if someone works between January 1st and December 31st, 2009 for a minimum of 240 days, they will receive a credit of 12 days in their leave account at the beginning of the year 2010. The maximum accumulation of leave will be 30 days.

For sales and marketing firms, please refer to the Shop & Establishment Act in your state.

Hi Renu,

According to the Shops & Establishment Act, there are three types of leave: 1) Privilege Leave (sometimes called Earned Leave or Annual Leave), 2) Casual Leave, and 3) Sick Leave. For more details, refer to your state's Shops & Establishment Act.

Thank you, Anupam. This is really helpful. I am joining a new startup which is a sales and marketing company. I would like to request if you could provide any information that can help me, like any checklist, etc. :)

As per the Factories Act, the leaves are paid leaves, and the employer needs to pay the employee during the period of leave. Also, it is important to ensure proper paragraph formatting for better readability.

Guys! I appreciate your remarks here; however, we should respect the title of the agenda, which was totally different.
